Ogün is the Yoruba tribe's god of iron, metalwork and warfare. He is also present in Haitian Voodoo culture. 1st king of the major african city of "Ife", Ogün committed suicide after killing disrespectful subjects, but instead of dying, found a place amongst the afican pantheon of gods under the Earth's crust. Armed with his hammer, he is said to have opened the passage to Earth's underground for the other gods.
