Most of history's civilizations have their pantheon of badasses gods, none more impressive than the gods of war and death. These gods ruled the souls of humans on the battlefield and while on their way to the afterlife. Greeks have Hades, Egyptians have Anubis, Hindus have Virabhadra, Japanese have Raijin, Norse have Hel, Mayans have Kukulkan, parts of Africa and Haïti have Ogun. These are not the only warrior-gods out there, but I've selected these and imagined them as they would look unto the soldiers deploying courage and skill to honor them and secure a place at their side.
